{mini-view: shelley armistead}

It's the last Monday of the month, you guys! We made it…Through, what seems, like one of the longest months of the year both literally and figuratively. I can't think of a better way to bid farewell to January than with a new Mini-View! Sometimes, I don't how people find my little corner of the blogosphere, but I'm so happy when they do. Especially when they reach out and introduce me to new and interesting people. In this particular case, it's Shelley Armistead who is general manager of Soho House in West Hollywood (and where Shelley's husband, Matthew, is a chef). Shelley is also a mom to two boys, and she shares some insights on how she handles family life and being a working mom. Without further ado, herewith is Shelley Armistead's Mini-View:

Shelley, thank you so much for sharing these insights with us. Also, I must send a special thank you to Julienne Lin for reaching out to me and introducing me to Shelley and her wonderfully stylish world. If you're interested in reading more about Shelley and Matthew Armistead, here is a great article from the Los Angeles Times.

Happy Monday, everyone!

5 Send Me Your Thoughts:

  1. What a fantastic mini-view! Is it wrong I like her more just for being English? haha. I'm intrigued by her vintage glass collection and tea cups, those sound like things I'd collect. I admire her motto, and it's something I strive for, but sometimes laziness wins out and then I end up with a pile of to-do's the next day when I could have easily taken care of them yesterday. Have a great Monday, T! We're almost out of the woods with January. Hopefully February will be gentler on all of us.

  2. Great mini-view! I love her house! That living room. Sigh.  I've been thinking of you a lot, and I agree with Erin. Hopefully February will be gentler on us all.

    another fantastic interview, i just love these. such great answers and as a mom i can relate to so many of them. i don't think i'd be able to answer the greatest extravagance one though, i think i need to work on that!

    and, yes, so glad this month is at it's end. it's felt at least two months long. xo

  4. Love this mini-view T! I couldn't agree more with the don't put off tomorrow what you can do today sentiment...I've been working on that both at work and at home. The photo on the bottom right is so lovely...is that her home? Those floors are to die for. The L.A. Times article was great & her tea cup collection is fantastic. Thank you and Shelly for the reminder that being with family is really what its all about! Here's to a new month. xxo
