{my monday with: insideology}

Happy Monday! Surprise! Look who I'm spending My Monday with...Miss Annabel Bird of Insideology. How excited are you? Annie and I met through, you guessed it, the Blogging Your Way e-course. (I tell you, I've met so many quality bloggers as a result of that course, it has certainly proven its worth, and then some.) I was immediately drawn to Annie's expert handling of the written word; She can spin a metaphor like nobody's business. Her blog is overflowing with topics such as thoughtful book reviews, life in London, and her journey through interior design studies, just to name a few. Let's take a look at Annie's favorite things, shall we:

I love {Diptyque candles}, any other candle feels inferior to me. I like the dark, musky ones the best. My favourite scents are Canelle, Orangery and Roses.

I bought this {vintage marmalade pot} in an antiques fair. It’s been glued together a few times but that adds to its charm. I store my make up brushes in it.

{Soaps from Santa Maria Novella} in Florence, the oldest pharmacy in the world. Posh soaps are one of those things that make life a little nicer and they last longer and are more pleasing to use than posh shower gel.

I gave this {Tom Dixon jack door stop} to Richard the day we moved into our new flat. So strictly speaking it’s not mine!

I love anything rose scented and this {Cowshed Gorgeous Cow body lotion} is thick and creamy and just perfect really.

I’ve had {this ashtray}, which was liberated from a South American tapas restaurant, for about ten years and I’m quite attached to it. I keep my earrings in it.

{A costume necklace} from the 1950s that I bought in Primrose Hill a couple of years ago. A random purchase that I have hardly taken off since it came home with me.

Each autumn I buy myself a {new scarf} and this year I chose a raspberry cashmere tartan one.

I bought my {vintage gurgling fish jug} from eBay for a tenner. It is so called because it makes a wonderful glugging sound when you pour from it but mostly I use it as a vase.

Oh, Annie, I love each and every one of your favorite things. Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing today, especially since you just moved!

Ok, my friends, it's a short week. Let's make it a great one!

17 Send Me Your Thoughts:

  1. Ah! Yay Annie! I love all her choices, but I love the stories behind the tapas restaurant ashtray and the doorstop the most. I'm obviously with her on the Diptyque candles (seriously, ladies, the rest of you need to take the plunge!) but I couldn't use those beautiful soaps: I'd want to keep the wrapping on them! So excited Annie got to spend the day here! Two of my favorites, collaborating. C'est magnifique! xoxo

  2. Yay from me too! Hooray for Annie! I love to hear the story behind the vintage gurgling jug that I've seen in several of her photos! And Orangerie Dyptique...I swear, I'm almost there! Maybe Santa will be good to me! And great idea to buy a new scarf each season. I've mostly knit most of mine, and last year wasn't much of a scarf year, but I can already tell that this year will be...

  6. Thank you Theresa for inviting me, I had so much fun doing this, except for the total lack of natural daylight in the UK in November anyway! It was really hard picking my favourite things, I'm surprised at how much was vintage. A fascinating exercise. Can't wait to see the next one xx
