Happy first Monday of November! As I like to do every first Monday of the new month, herewith is November's moodboard to help depict this month's state of the union. November is bustling with gatherings and celebrations, so I'm adhering to visual minimalism. It seems most appropriate considering all that is going on.
- It's finally feeling like fall in these parts, so this first photo with the layers, oxblood nails, coffee, and some quiet, reflective writing is speaking loud and clear to me.
- That cake represents the many events my family and I will be celebrating this month. First up is my mom's birthday, which is today. (Happy birthday, mom!) Then, my husband and I will celebrate our eighth wedding anniversary, tomorrow! A few weeks later, me, myself, and I will celebrate another year wiser. Let me tell you, I'm smart! Oh, and before I forget, this here blog will be turning two! Whew, so much to be thankful for, truly.
- That beautiful and moody place setting represents Thanksgiving and giving thanks. My husband and I will embark on our annual trek to Dinner in the Park where we will help to feed homeless families and/or those who find themselves alone this holiday. (If you're in the area, please join us.) We are grateful for all that we have in our lives, so this is our small way of giving back. In addition, my kids' school will hold its annual Harvest Festival this Saturday to include fund raising and silent auctions. I will be working all this week to put together silent auction baskets and volunteering at the event this Saturday. Let the fund raising and giving back begin!
- Last, but certainly not least, this month will mark a very important day for our governing system. Make your voice heard and ...
You better believe that I've got about five different lists created to help keep track of everything that is happening this month. In the midst of it all, I'm going to make sure to slow down and be present as much as I can. If I let it, this month could quickly turn into a high-speed race to next month, right? How is November shaking out for you guys?
Before I set you free, and continuing the giving theme, I wanted to let you know about an Esty shop that Joy (of Frock Files) is setting up to help raise funds for Hurricane Sandy victims. If you have anything you would like to contribute, please consider contacting Joy.
Ok, I'll let you get back. Make it a great Monday!
