oh, hello there! welcome to the new office. you may notice that i did a little sprucing up around here. well, really, ana of blog milk did all the heavy lifting. (thank you, ana!) now this office is as much mine as it is yours, so please make yourself comfortable and have a poke around as i tidy up a bit more.
while we're on the subject, i wanted to see which of the above offices speaks to you. are you clean and modern (hello, all white room), moody and eclectic, vintage and traditional, or bright and feminine? if i could design my dream office, i think i would pull a little something from each of these spaces. i would love to have a few plants, a vintage desk that's painted a matte dark gray, beautifully organized and styled book shelves, giant mood board, wood floors, and tons of natural light. oh, and while i'm dreaming, an eames leather office chair wouldn't hurt either. so, tell me, what's in your dream office?

hello t! i'm with you about a bit of all - plants from the first, huge windows from the second, bookshelves from the third, and something girly from the last. lovely, all.
ReplyDeletei like your spruce up! someday i need to get categories for easy finding. hooray for your inspirations!
A bit of everything please T! Huge room, huge plants, glass chandeliers, floor to ceiling bookshelves, storage, a large table for layouts, a chaise longue, posters and art, colourful furniture, table lamps, parquet flooring.
ReplyDeleteI like your new navigation designs, well done Ana too!
Of COURSE bits of all appeal to me. I love the brick wall and those gorgeous windows in the eclectic office, and the clean lines of the modern office. Those shelves in the traditional office and that desk in the feminine! To die for! Neel would never let me put it in our family room...although he did let me paint a wall of our living room pink, so maybe!
ReplyDeleteHi Theresa-
ReplyDeleteI love the office I have now, but it seems I never have enough space. So if I could have any size/style office it would be a nice large open loft. I'm just grateful for the office I have now which I know is a luxury. Teri
whilst you have someone to do the heavy lifting, i'll have office numero 2 please, with the fiddle leaf from no.1 & the bookshelf from no.3... that's me done & dusted... cheers & regards, sue {ps, i'll get my people to contact your people re the move!}
ReplyDeleteI always read you in my reader, so I had to click through to see the changes and they look terrific :) My office is a mix of modern and eclectic. Now if I would only use it more often instead of working from my couch...
ReplyDeleteTheresa it looks so good! Love that you worked with Ana on this too:) I think I'm more of the vintage/traditional type with some pops here and there to brighten it up.
ReplyDeleteYaaay! I noticed the redesign yesterday and couldn't be more in love with it! It looks fabulous, darling. Really stream-lined and elegant and "you" all at the same time. Now, about those offices, I'll take the brick wall from the moody & eclectic one, that pink desk from the bright & feminine, and everything else from the clean & modern one (duh, haha). You know me! A sucker for all-white. Really love all 4 you chose though. My dream office still looks like Jenna Lyons's.
ReplyDeletei love everything you just said! but visually i think i prefer the moody and eclectic one (i'm a sucker for exposed brick walls).
ReplyDeleteHello again. Popping back on to say how much I like your new digs! My computer was funky this morning and nothing was loading properly, so I couldn't take a good look around. I l think it looks lovely and suits you right down to your toes! xo
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a fabulous re-design. Elegant, sophisticated and very aligned with who you are.:) stylish and professional!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
I quite like my office space but would die for a yellow office eames chair!!!!!
What is it called when you put all four of these styles together?...that's me : ) I really like your new design, ana always comes through ; ) A new office space is sure to bring a lot of productivity your way. Well done!
ReplyDeleteLove the new digs - my dream office would be mid-century modern with bright pops.
ReplyDeleteHi, Noreen! Seems we're on the same page for offices. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh, yea. Along with a traditional desk, I would love to have a huge work table to spread out whatever project I'm working on. For now, projects get done on our large dining room table.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sam!
Isn't that exposed brick beautiful? Haven't seen a wall like that since we lived on the East Coast. That pink desk is pretty sweet.
ReplyDeleteBig, open loft space sounds nice. Can we all move in there and call it the blog collective? What an inspirational space that would be.
ReplyDeleteSue, if you get the chance, you should really check out that entire office space in #2 designed by Jessica Helgerson. I have to say that I've never seen anything like it...It's pretty amazing.
ReplyDeleteOh, I like the sound of modern and eclectic. Ha-ha, you have the couch and I have the bed. Sometimes you just need to be comfortable.
ReplyDeleteYay for Ana! She does great work.
ReplyDeleteI love that vintage/traditional office too. It actually belongs to Frank Muytjens, mens head designer at J.Crew. No wonder we like it.
So glad you like. I figure one last hurrah before I switch over. This one may hold me over for a bit.
ReplyDeleteYup, that clean and modern one was for you. Ah, Jenna Lyons' office...Yes, that's another good one.
Hm, seems we have many exposed-brick-wall lovers in the house. That moody/eclectic number is definitely a good one. I would work for no pay to work in that office. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lauren! You're the best.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tina! Happy you like the new digs.
ReplyDeleteOH, yellow office Eames chair - how fun!
Thank you, Tori! Ana definitely did me a solid. After seeing how she helped both you and Haydee, how could I go anywhere else.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lauren. Mid-century is always a good choice.
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing spaces. Love the first one especially, but any space with that much brick (especially in So Cal) is heaven!
ReplyDeleteit's been awhile since i've been here. i've been so busy! but, when i came it was a pleasant surprise! i have much catching up to do (need to read some of your past posts)...AND i absolutely love the new office :) if i had a choice for my own office it would probably be something between the clean & modern and moody & eclectic.
ReplyDeletewell...i can't wait to make more frequent visit to the new office!
oh yes! Clean and modern, for me please :) Except, like you, I would need a place for my real life mood board. Maybe above the storage unit and behind that glorious plant (on the wall opposite the taller bookshelf unit). Dreamy!
ReplyDeleteErika, Would you believe that I almost used a photo of your office space as the feminine/bright one? I'll get you next time because I love your office. Thanks so much for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteNo problem, Jin. Happy you were able to pop by and check out the new digs. I've been enjoying all your photos from Hwy 1. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYes, a real life mood board is a must. I recently stripped everything off my mood board. It sits empty full of possibility.
ReplyDeleteOh T, it is beautiful. Clean, elegant, yet still homey. I love your redesign. It is so you. And the office spaces are lovely. I'd love to have the first one, but realistically my life is much more chaotic and cluttered, and colourful.
ReplyDeleteMaybe i can have office #1 with the bookshelves from #3 and the girly touches and inspiration from #4 (and the windows from #2 are amazing). There, sorted. Now to sort my real office/study. Not half as much fun.
Well done honey you are so inspiring xx
I'm like you, I'd like to pull a little bit from each style. Sometimes I wish I would gravitate towards one style, because it will just make (decorating) life so much easier... BUT, I do love the best of both worlds... in this case, four worlds! Maybe I just need to have four offices, ha!
ReplyDeleteIf I would get an inspiration to these offices, I would like to have a mixture of the 3. I would combine the colors and atmosphere of “Clean and Modern, Moody and Electric and Vintage and Traditional”. I love to see plants, especially when working. I would love to have black rugs and drawers to contrast white walls and of course a vintage wooden chest.
