{mini-view: jared abe...}

happy last monday of july everyone! weren't we just celebrating fourth of july?! every time i create a new mini-view for you, it reminds me how fast the months are racing by. anyway, please help me welcome jared abe (pronounced ah-beh) to the blog. jared is an uber-talented friend (he is also family, but i assure you this relationship does not influence my opinion :) who creates unique video content for vans. (yes, thee vans…as in vans off the wall.) in his position, jared has traveled the world and met a slew of amazing artists. he has even had the opportunity to work along side a good friend he greatly admires, max wanger. (if you're unfamiliar with wanger's work, please feast your eyes on this magic.) recently, jared played a major role in developing a video series for offthewall.tv titled, pass the bucket, which i spoke about here and urge you to watch for a heavy dose of inspiration. need a recommendation? watch the video on amy purdy - you will come undone and think twice about any self-imposed limitations. (i know i did.)

i have a huge amount of respect for jared as he has taken it upon himself to learn all the tools of his trade and hone his style. he is self-taught and was born with a creative eye, that much is for certain. but please allow me to let jared elaborate in his own words. without further ado, herewith is jared's mini-view:

thank you so much for stopping by today, jared. i really appreciate the time you took to answer these questions and give us all a little peak into your creative world.

ok, i gave you a whole lot to chew on today. however, before i set you free, i have to wish my daughter, who is turning three today, a happy birthday! i bet you can guess where we are going today. happy monday everyone!

30 Send Me Your Thoughts:

  1. Happy new week, T!  I'll check out Jared's work when I have more time, but thanks for the introduction.  I like what he has to say about creating content, x-ray vision, and family first.  Joy to you, N.

  2. Happy birthday to your little girl!! Spending the day at Disneyland to celebrate?! That's so much fun! Quite the special birthday indeed.

    Another wonderful mini-view, and be sure to tell him how much I love my vans lo pro. I've gone through a few pairs of the classic black ones and they hold up amazingly and are so comfy. I even brought a pair to Europe because I knew they wouldn't hurt with all that walking around. Tell me you get free shoes being related to Jared, right?? Oddly I find myself using "dude" a lot, too, and I'm not even from the west coast! I've heard a ton about Max Wagner, but I have to say I'm not a huge fan of his work. Not my style of photography, but to each their own :)

    Happy last Monday in July! xo

  12.  Awww, shucks! I missed it!! :(

    Happy belated birthday to your honeybunch extraordinaire, Eames! I hope she had a great day at Disneyland. :)

    Loved reading your birth story. My little one was almost born in Ikea but I don't think I'd have received any freebies for that! :D

    I know I say this every time but this is your best Mini-view yet. Having
    watched Jared's video, I have nothing but admiration and respect for
    Amy Purdy - she's such an incredible human being with a fabulous outlook
    on life.

    The concept of Pass The Bucket is just brilliant. What could be more
    rewarding than using one's talents to showcase those of others? Truly
    inspirational stuff.
