the other day my daughter and i were at the library and i ran across an article in more magazine about linda rodin. many of you will be familiar with this ageless beauty for the beauty products she creates under her surname. rodin's business began when she couldn't find the right beauty products for herself, which i think is a great motivator for starting a business as any.
people, linda rodin is 63! (note: the photo above is from an article that is a year old.) when i was reading the article, i thought to myself: if this is what 63 looks like, then bring it. i kid, of course. i am not trying to hurry the aging process in the least bit, especially since this first year of my 40's i have felt every bit of my age. (though, i'll save that conversation for another post.) however, reading and learning more about rodin inspired me to look at aging in a different way - not to dread it, but to embrace it with grace. like taxes and death, aging is inevitable so why fight it or fear it.
i think more than anything rodin's signature style is what stands out the most for me, which always consists of soft, silvery hair, eye glasses with personality, red pout, dark denim, and a killer shoe. rodin let her hair go gray at 35 and never looked back! as rodin states on her company's website, "there is beauty in simplicity."
i can definitely appreciate creating a signature look and lifestyle that is uniquely yours; it's aspirational and inspiring. what about you, do you have any style icons you admire? (oh, definitely can't leave out audrey hepburn and iris apfel.)
