on my last trip to the book store, i was perusing the latest issue of communication arts and read about a genius idea for a retail shop - a store that sells fonts called playtype. if you love fonts and typography as much as i do then this store probably sounds like a great idea to you, too. not only can you walk into the store and purchase your favorite font, you can also purchase font related paraphernalia such as labels for your favorite wine, framed typographic prints, or one large framed letter (to name just a few). the retail space is also beautifully designed (wouldn't expect anything less, right?). the unfortunate part, this concept and the resulting retail space is the genius idea of a design agency (e-types) located in copenhagen. so, for now, we (in the states) are still regulated to purchasing our fonts on line. boo.
